Hey there! So I've got a question that you probably don't see every day. So this term at my University I'm taking a Game Programming class (we're using unity), and for my final project, I wanted to steal some of the dragon/other assets from SoD for my project. I followed a nice guide-like thing you had online and was able to get a texture version of meatlug imported into my game. I have no clue what you know (if anything) about unity, but I was wondering what (if there is anything I could) do to import the dragon animations. I also wanted to import some of the large lands, but your guide didn't cover that. Is this anything you may know how to do?

but youll need to use assetstudios and merge them as one by selecting the anim file+model then export > merge, make sure yo checked Export animations in the options full has all of them

what about importing lands? it looks like there's a huge amount of stuff in those folders

because assetstudios doesnt let you export one of them, it exports all of them into one, the view program windows has would have a menu listing each one

Heyo, I was wondering if there is a folder in the SoD assets directory for the mesh/root/rig of warlord goons? There's folders for most of the main characters, but all I can find are the meshes for the warlord goons in some of the islands and those don't include the rig.

Cool, okay, I am making a video on the whole drama, and I just wanted to make sure I got all the facts straight, and that they actually are who they say they are

Vark sent Goony a message regarding the verification since we've had impersonators before, and the person that asked for the server invite was one of Goony's friend (Kvothe). Because we didn't know at the time, we were super Sus™️ about it. The first thing they did was to friend all three active Admins (Vark, me, and VicZar), then make a friend group with the three members. After a few hours (Sunny and Bryn had to wake up as well), each member sent a pic of their office desks - two with an official Jumpstart mug, and the other with an official Flame Whipper plush. When I mentioned the whole "hey, there's now two Brynjolfs and a Snod, what about them?", that's when they mentioned the why they decided to come to the server because Brynjolf#3714 wasn't - and never was - the real one, and Snod the Sneak#9557 was making a fool of ourselves and giving both datamine-confirmed "hints", and straight up lies in the PMs. I remember Daenyon said in the server how they spoke to this Snod guy about the possibility of Windstriker being in the game, and they told them it wouldn't because... go figure.

I hear you and agree with you that it is unlikely that even if every single admin and member of SoD Discord was okay with Varku coming back, Varku would not personally agree to come back. I mean, I know of precious few people that ever come back after a banning. You can share the following with other SoD admins, but I would prefer that what I say here doesn’t get too much farther if that is okay with you. Sometimes I briefly cover SoD server drama on my youtube channel, but this drama I never will, and I have not spread the follow information around to anyone, I have just gathered it myself and thought it over carefully, so you don’t have to worry about me sneaking around and spreading rumors. I do not believe in most secrets, and I value honesty almost to a fault. I chose my status, not necessarily because I think Varku can or will come back, but as sort of a uh...what is the word...silent resistance to what occurred.

BUT then, I was just talking with my closest and dearest SoD friends who I really trust and have known for years and years, and some...news came out that made me start to second guess what was going on. In essence, I believe you (not necessarily just you, but the admins in general) flat out lied to most of the members in the SoD server or, at the very least, did not tell crucial parts of the truth. There are a lot of reasons for why I believe the rather, shocking statement I just made, many of which I can’t specify because I don’t want to and (promised I wouldn’t) say anything that may reveal said informants/friends.

The one thing I can say, however, is that it was told to me that the reason Varku was banned was sort of NSFW and that it was because Varku was too harsh in their opinions (or something rather close to that). I do not believe this was true at all. I was given and gained access to literally dozens of leaked and private messages and chats, as well as talking to Varku personally (I reached out to them, they did not reach out to me). (I will say Varku was surprisingly well-mannered for just being banned and wasn’t raging or even saying anything mean or rude about the SoD admins, which gained my respect). The full story regarding the banning was simply, I believe, an act of petty offense. In itself, I wouldn’t really make such a big deal of it, but there has been additional drama that I have recently become aware of that has more or less convinced me that some admins were/are taking their power too far. They have banned Varku for allegedly being insensitive and not very inclusive, while at the same time not being inclusive and welcoming to much more benign stuff.

Now, I will say that I don’t think Varku was 100% in the right as it almost always takes “two to tango” as the American expression goes, but I definitely don’t think what Varku did was bannable and that coupled with a variety of other things that has been going on recently has caused me to doubt that the admins are truly taking the best actions. I truly do not mean to offend anyone, and I am still planning on staying and being a good member of the server. I have played Sod for several years, and I pride myself on being both respectful and understanding, but I do get pissed when I get lied to and see this much hypocrisy, and that’s why I put up my status. I still respect the admins and I still think it is commendable that they were willing to take actions to ban a fellow admin (even if that action was wrong) which shows some ability to make tough decisions.

no one told me you got also told wtf, the only people i explained in full detail (since i was pratically the most involved) was Rax - who choses to ignore the very fact i didnt want them gone, all i asked was for an attitude change, and thinks vic is also in cahoots when they were literally innocent - and Cyanae - who came directly to me about the topic what was/were the admins that told you about it, and what did they said? id argue the whole event made me go through the 5 stages of grief - denial: disbelief that happened and tried to ammend it (made worse) - anger: furious about the event as i uncover more info/double check the info - bargaining: hoped there could be a way to salvage this, including bringing them back - depression: verge of quitting the server because i felt dirty after what happened - acceptance: i technically caused it, then i got used, betrayed, and was lied to, vic was dragged under the bus, and learned nessie isnt as trustworthy as i thought

, i wanna expand by saying that we had a whole ass plan too: - since i was the most involved, id write the clarification of what happened (which is halted and overly long rn), and publish it (makes it easier to read and prevents anyone from editing it/ask for editor rights) - through the private group we have with the devs, wed apologize to the devs because they had to endure this, and would endure the next chaotic mess - then both me and vic would leave the server but not before we link to the document in the announcements to get the point across of why we are doing it - and through TesterTime since people forget thats also me, id watch and see the catastrophe that would happen that shows just how much the event made us feel dirty and hated what happened, we had a dedicated plan for our departure and make nessie, for lack of better words, suffer lol (edited)

In reference to me being told stuff by admins, all I REMEMBER being told was that it was somewhat NSFW and that it was about Varku being too opinionated and harsh about said opinions (please keep in mind this is just my memory of what I gathered from public comments in the server so I could have that a little off…) All of my information I gained from a few sources with current/previous ties to the SoD server with lots of screenshots from the server and from private conversations/chats/channels/etc. Once again, I don’t want to go too into detail on EXACTLY (please note me capitalizing stuff is simply for emphasis – not for me screaming!) what those things were but suffice it to say I am quite aware of the whole dang thing. Everything from you telling Nessie about Varku’s insensitivity to furry/autism shenanigan to Varku’s booting and consequential reactions from admins. None of the admins have talked to me personally about this, and I only briefly spoke with Varku just to friend them on Discord basically.

You can imagine my surprise when you mentioned multiple times that you wanted to be completely open about the whole drama. Perhaps, and I am quite open to the idea, I may have judged back in the opposite direction too quickly. From screenshots, it looks like everyone was talking at least a little bit of smack against each other, but from what you have said and what I saw in screenshots, it appears that Nessie was the only one that wanted the full ban to occur and Nessie was the one that wanted to keep it hush-hush.

I loved it when you said “i got mismanagement, miscommunication, lack of information, lack of opaqueness” because as I am now realizing, the whole thing was one pile of spaghetti, lol. On one side, I do understand why Nessie doesn’t want to have the drama go any further by posting the whole thing out (especially now with the actual SoD devs in there, it’s important to appear professional), but at the same time, the openness is quite critical. In my opinion, Varku was too harsh on you and the autism/lgbtq/furry stuff, but at the same time I feel like you (I apologize if I offend you here) was a little too offended by what they said, and I definitely agree that Nessie blew what you said out of proportion. On a somewhat unrelated topic, I was the one that caused Procompy’s banning because I happened to mention one day (in response to a video about dinos and birds) that I don’t think dinosaurs evolved from birds, and I made the classic mistake of posting a few articles written by a palentology PHD who was also a creationist and that caused Procompy to blow up at me and created the deal. From what I remember, procompy left before any real banning decision was fully realized.

It is good to know more from your side of the story (thank you for sharing very nicely!) and understand that you guys weren’t all onboard with the hush-hush and that some of you just got caught in the cross fire. To me, it appears there were mistakes all around and it’s a pity that what went down, went down… This server, I believe anyway, is just a reflection of the widening divide in the world as we see it today with things like lgtbq being the focus of attention (at least, this is really causing issues in the U.S.) and it’s natural that things like that would work into servers, and its hard to deal with that because if two people believe two wildly different things, it’s hard work to get them to work together peacefully. Hopefully lessons were learned, and this won’t happen again, but, as SoD is literally drama 60% of the time, I am convinced drama like this will continue to go down as long as the game is alive. Once again, I appreciate you respectfully talking with me and sharing your side of the story in both an honest and responsible way, it means a lot. Let me know if you have any other questions or clarification that needs to be made
